A review of the R U What U Eat lesson:

When working on research for a class at NCHS (use Chrome as a browser), you should always have multiple tabs open - Destiny (online library catalog) - you must sign-in with your own personal user name and password), the NCHS database page (click here for UN & PW info), and THE ANNEX@

Open Google Apps
On the landing page, scroll down to open EasyBib.

Open EasyBib. Open a new project (MLA 7), name it R U What U Eat - your country name, share it with your group mates (only one group member should do this), and leave that tab open.

Philip II - Who Killed the King?

NEW! We asked the folks at EasyBib if they could tweak a few things to improve the product's  collaborative capabilities. Sounds like it's all do-able!
        Mr. Phillip's assignment

OK guys, you're in the big leagues now! If you like "filling in the blank worksheets", it's time to think bigger.

This is NOT your typical assignment. It is WAY cooler. This is a mystery. And to solve it, you need to know a lot of information about Europe's Golden Age, and how it affected global trade! So start with your textbook. I mean it. You need to know what Philip II wanted - his hopes and dreams aspirations, ambitions, and the whole shebang.

You also need to know how other people (as in all over the world) with different perspectives would have felt about those hopes and dreams and aspirations. In other words, you need to know all about world history in the Renaissance.

Essential question: What in the world was going on at the end of the 16th century?

KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SOURCES AS YOU GO!!!!

When using databases and EasyBib, there is a way to copy and paste the databases citations into EasyBib. It requires very simple tweaking.

Also, ABC-CLIO is already synced with EasyBib, so just click Cite this Document link and choose Export to EasyBib.

I want to see how you are doing your research, and what sources you are using, so you are going to use Google Docs:
Complete this guide to answer questions about your suspect.

You will need to copy the document, rename it, share and save it (CRiSS). Instructions follow.
Log in to Google Apps with your ncps-k12.org log in information.Click File, then Make a copy, then click OK (don't check Also copy document collaborators). Click File, Rename, and type your Last Name, First Name, Product, Teacher Period (i.e., Dutton, Garrett. Queen Elizabeth.Webb. 1). Click Share, Invite people, type in your group members names, your history teacher's name, and Ms. Luhtala's name to invite them To edit this document.Click Send.

Now that you know we can assess what you are using for research, here are the databases you should use:

If you need help citing your sources, refer to pages 41-47 in your NCHS student planner.

Check spellings as you work! there may be alternative spellings and search phrases, depending on where you are searching (i.e., Catherine II instead of Catherine the Great, or know where your person is from, i.e., Montezuma/Moctezuma, etc.) Make notes of alternative spellings in the forum below. Use the chart! That's why it is there.
